April is National Poetry Month, an annual celebration organized by the Academy of American Poets to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry in the United States. Begun in 1996, National Poetry Month is now the largest literary celebration in the world, connecting schools, publishers, libraries, booksellers, and poets with readers.
