We hope you’ll join us for a free online poetry reading featuring contributors from the just-released anthology, 101 Jewish Poems for the Third Millennium (Ashland Poetry Press, 2021). The evening will begin with a discussion regarding the creation of the anthology and thoughts about Jewish poetry with coeditors Matthew E. Silverman and Nancy Naomi Carlson, along with Jennifer Rathbun (Associate Editor of Ashland Poetry Press). A brief Q & A session will follow the readings.

Laura Cesarco Eglin is a poet and translator. Her latest poetry collection is Life, One Not Attached to Conditionals. Translator of Hilda Hilst’s Of Death. Minimal Odes, a 2019 BTBA winner, she’s the publisher of Veliz Books.

Jacqueline Osherow’s most recent book is My Lookalike at the Krishna Temple (LSU Press, 2019). She’s received Guggenheim, NEA and Ingram Merrill Fellowships and the Witter Bynner Prize. She’s Distinguished Professor at the University of Utah.

Scott Spanbauer‘s published translations include Adolfo Pardo’s The Grill, and Laura Cesarco Eglin’s Calling Water by Its Name. He teaches at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Jennifer Rathbun, poet and translator, is a Professor of Spanish and Associate Editor of Ashland Poetry Press at Ashland University. She is the translator of ten books by Hispanic authors including Alberto Blanco and Minerva Margarita Villarreal. https://www.ashlandpoetrypress.com/

M.E. Silverman, former editor of Blue Lyra Review, has authored The Floating Door and
The Breath before Birds Fly. Co-editor of three Jewish anthologies, his poems
