70 Stories for 70 Years!

In celebration of the first and oldest Jewish Book Fair of its kind, the Detroit Jewish Book Fair presents 70 story events beginning August 8, 2021 and culminating at opening night of Book Fair in November, 2022. During the 70th anniversary celebratory year, we will be presenting a mix of virtual and in-person programming infused with Jewish books and the art of Jewish story telling.

Join us at the JCC in West Bloomfield in the Drake parking lot for an in-person, outdoor celebration of ?the Detroit Jewish Book Fair and the art of Jewish storytelling. This expo-style event will feature Michigan authors, local artists, musicians, and family activities throughout.

Event schedule:
11am-2pm – Expo featuring Michigan authors, local artists, family activities, and more
11am-12:30pm – Klezmer band Klezundheidt sets the tone with a fun and eclectic mix of music
12:30pm – Local celebrity author Harvey Ovshinsky talks about his new memoir, Scratching the Surface
1:15pm – Meet our Michigan authors
1:30pm-2pm – Book signing with Harvey Ovshinsky
