The TLS-Risa Domb/Porjes Prize
The prize is sponsored by the Edith and Ferdinand Porjes Charitable Trust, a grant-making charity which was established in the late 1970s. The Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry, under the auspices of the African Poetry Book Fund and in partnership with the literary journal, Prairie Schooner, is an annual award of USD $1,000. Established in 2015 and named for the literary philanthropist Glenna Luschei, this Pan African Poetry Prize is the only one of its kind in the world and aims to honor and promote African poetry written in English or in translation and to recognize a significant book published each year by an African poet.

Hamlin Garland Prize
This prize is named after the Midwestern writer Hamlin Garland, a product of Wisconsin, Iowa, and South Dakota who sought to promote writing about his home region and published widely in popular outlets. His many books include Daughter of the Middle Border, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1922.

Society of Midland Authors Literary Competition
Each year since its inception in 1915, the Society has presented awards for excellence to authors and poets. Currently the Society presents awards of cash and recognition plaques to winners in the categories of adult fiction and nonfiction, biography, poetry, and children's fiction and nonfiction published in the previous year. The juried competition is open to authors and poets who reside in, were born in, or have strong ties to the twelve-state Midwestern Heartland.

Foreword Reviews INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards
Whether you're a librarian, a bookseller, or just a general lover of books, you know that independent presses and authors are publishing some of the most innovative, creative, and beautiful books. To honor the very best of indie publishing each year, Foreword Reviews created the Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards! Thousands of books are entered each year, and our panel of over 120 librarians and booksellers take part in the judging, narrowing it down to a group of finalists and winners that represent the best books, all independently published, in over 60 categories.

National Jewish Book Awards
The National Jewish Book Awards is the longest running North American awards program of its kind in the field of Jewish literature and is recognized as the most prestigious. The awards, presented by category, are designed to give recognition to outstanding books, to stimulate writers to further literary creativity and to encourage the reading of worthwhile titles.

The Historical Society of Michigan's annual State History Awards - Awards of Merit are prized statewide and are the highest recognition presented by the state's official historical society and oldest cultural organization.

Paterson Fiction Prize
The Poetry Center, founded in 1980 by award-winning poet, Maria Mazziotti Gillan, its executive director, has hosted thousands of poets over the years at its readings, workshops and conferences.

AUPresses Book, Jacket & Journal Show Award
Since 1965, the Association of University Presses Book, Jacket, and Journal Show has fulfilled its mission to “honor and instruct”: honoring the design and production teams whose work furthers a long tradition of excellence in book design, and — through a traveling exhibit and acclaimed annual catalog of selected entries — visually teaching the tenets of good design. This competition is open to member press publishers only.

Next Generation Indie Book Award
The Next Generation Indie Book Awards is the largest Not-for-Profit book awards program for indie authors and independent publishers. In its fourth year of operation, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards was established to recognize and honor the most exceptional independently published books in 60 different categories, for the year, and is presented by Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group (www.IBPPG.com) in cooperation with Marilyn Allen of Allen O'Shea Literary Agency.

Eric Hoffer Book Awards
The Eric Hoffer Award for independent books recognizes excellence in publishing with a $1,500 grand prize and various category honors and press type distinctions, as well as the winners of the Montaigne Medal and the da Vinci Eye.

Montaigne Medal from the Eric Hoffer Awards
Each year, the Eric Hoffer Award for books presents the Montaigne Medal to the most thought-provoking book(s). These are books that either illuminate, progress, or redirect thought. The Montaigne Medal is given in honor of the great French philosopher Michel de Montaigne, who influenced people such as William Shakespeare, René Descartes, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Friedrich Nietzsche, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Eric Hoffer. This is an additional distinction beneath the Eric Hoffer Award umbrella.

Michigan Notable Book Awards
Michigan Notable Books is The Library of Michigan's annual selection of up to 20 recommended books reflecting Michigan's rich cultural heritage, featuring high-quality titles with wide public appeal that are either written by a Michigan resident or about a Michigan-related topic.

Children's Literature Association Book Award

The Children’s Literature Association (ChLA) is a non-profit association of scholars, critics, professors, students, librarians, teachers and institutions dedicated to the academic study of literature for children.
AATSEEL Book Prize
The American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages (AATSEEL), founded in 1941, exists to advance the study and promote the teaching of Slavic and East European languages, literatures, and cultures on all educational levels, elementary through graduate school.The AATSEEL Publications Committee awards prizes for publications in the various disciplines participating in AATSEEL. The various awards given include Best Contribution to Language Pedagogy, Best Contribution to Slavic Linguistics, Best Book of Slavic Literary/Cultural Criticism, and Best Translation into English.
Independent Publisher Book Award
The IPPYs are designed to recognize independent authors and publishers who exhibit the courage, innovation, and creativity to bring about change in the world of publishing. Books are entered and judged in 65 national categories and 20 regional categories, and are also considered for the Ten Outstanding Books of the Year; Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to the top books, and the winners are honored at an annual ceremony each May. The IPPY contest is now the world's largest independent book awards contest, receiving over 3,000 entries each year.

Choice Outstanding Academic Title
Every year in the January issue, in print and online, Choice publishes a list of Outstanding Academic Titles that were reviewed during the previous calendar year. This prestigious list reflects the best in scholarly titles reviewed by Choice and brings with it the extraordinary recognition of the academic library community.

Lane Anderson Award for Science Writing
The Lane Anderson Award is an annual award presented to Canadian non-fiction science in two categories; adult and young readers. It is funded by the Fitzhenry Family Foundation, and headed by Sharon Fitzhenry and Hollister Doll. Winners receive a plaque and a prize of 10,000 dollars.
American Association for State and Local History Leadership in History Award
For over seventy years, AASLH has given Leadership in History Awards to establish and encourage standards of excellence in the collection, preservation, and interpretation of state and local history in order to make the past more meaningful to all people.

Paterson Prize For Books for Young People
The Poetry Center, founded in 1980 by award-winning poet, Maria Mazziotti Gillan, its executive director, has hosted thousands of poets over the years at its readings, workshops and conferences. Three literary contests – the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Awards, The Paterson Poetry Prize and the Paterson Prize for Books for Young People – are offered by the Center.

Sami Rohr Prize from the Jewish Book Council
In 2006, in celebration of Sami Rohr's 80th birthday, his children and grandchildren inaugurated the Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature to honor his lifelong love of Jewish writing.
