Calling all book clubs! The Detroit Public Library is proud to host acclaimed columnist Rochelle Riley, editor of the new book The Burden: African Americans and the Enduring Impact of Slavery, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018. The Detroit Public Library is calling all book clubs to attend for a presentation of excerpts from, and a conversation about “The Burden” and how slavery’s aftermath continues to diminish the lives of black Americans today.
