Great Lakes Poetry with Cindy Hunter Morgan
July 19, 2017 | 6:00pm | FREE

Cindy Hunter Morgan's new book, Harborless, available from Wayne State University Press, is a collection of poems informed by Great Lakes shipwrecks. She is the winner of the Midwest Writing Center's 2012 Chapbook Contest, the Ledge Press 2011 Poetry Chapbook Award, and in 2016, the inaugural winner of the Moveen Prize.

At this reading & workshop you will hear Cindy recite poetry, talk about her creative process, and dive into the natural and man-made history of Michigan while learning techniques for writing beautiful poetry inspired by Michigan and the Great Lakes.

The reading is free and open to the public, but the workshop requires a $10 admission fee.

Join local and regional artists as they share their art expertise. Our art workshops series takes place at the historic Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum, located downtown in Marquette Park. Supplies are provided, but you may bring your own. Class sizes are limited, early registration recommended to guarantee space.
All workshops cost $10 per day unless otherwise noted. Workshops are held after regular museum hours. Please enter through the basement door underneath the front staircase.
