Albert Kahn in Detroit: An Evening with Author Michael Hodges

Albert Kahn. For many, the name needs no introduction. In his new book, author Michael Hodges of the Detroit News, takes an in-depth look at the life and important architectural contributions of Kahn, whose designs range from iconic buildings such as the Fisher Building to synagogues, homes, churches, buildings, and factories.

Michael Hodges has been the Fine Arts Writer for the Detroit News for 26 years. Over his career, he has received wide acclaim for his articles on Detroit architecture and the resurgence of Detroit. In Albert Kahn in Detroit, Hodges tells the story of a penniless German-Jewish immigrant who invented modern architecture, with special attention Kahn’s revolutionary factory design.
