Book Club @ the Carr with InsideOut Literary Art Project

Date: Thursday, November 5, 2009
Time: 6:00PM

Celebrate African American authors and literature at the Virgil H. Carr Cultural Arts Center!  How would you feel if you were a bird?  What would you think about?  What would you see from up in the sky, down on the ground, or perched on the branches of an apple tree? Students and adults will become birds during this session.  Beginning at 6:00pm and using music, field guides to birds, movement, and imagination, participants will write poems pretending they are specific kinds of birds.  Perfect for early elementary aged students and their parents. The Carr Center is located at 311 E. Grand River Ave. in downtown Detroit.  For more information please contact the Carr Center at (313) 965-8430.
